The Student Support Team’s weekly guide: Trimester 2, 2017 – week 2; get study tips and tricks

Welcome to week 2, we hope you are settling in OK.

Our top tip for the week is (drumroll please) … get into the habit of spending 12 hours per week of study on each of your Units. Sometimes you might spend more time on a unit in a particular week, sometimes less, but, as a rule of thumb, keep 12 hours per week/per unit set aside. If you are still wondering if you can fit it all in, have a look at our Time Management Tool.

Also,

  • Make sure you check your UNE email account 2-3 times a week (or forward it to another account you check daily). All the important official emails go there, and you are expected to check it.
  • If you haven’t already, you should download your referencing guide via the Academic Skills Office: www. une.edu.au/current-students/ resources/academic-skills/referencing
  • If you have Intensive Schools coming up, it’s never too early to start getting things organised, such as travel and accommodation.
  • There’s also a full day IT outage on Sat 8 July. For tips on how to survive a full-day IT outage, check out this post on the Insider’s Guide.
