The UNE Vice-Chancellor Professor Annabelle Duncan recently approved proposed expenditure of approximately $1.45 million of student fees collected through the Student Services and Amenities Fee. This expenditure has been recommended by the Student Services and Amenities Fee Committee (SSAFC), and is comprised broadly of the following:
- $989,500 for 14 identified projects/activities representing short, medium and long-term initiatives.
- $460,236 reserved for priority projects for the on-campus student experience strategy.
- This $1.45 million comprises $583,736 in carryover funds from 2013 student fees, and $866,000 in 2014 student fees collected to date.
Details regarding the individual, proposed initiatives totalling $989,500 are described in the attached spreadsheet. Please note, further information will be provided when available regarding priority projects for the on-campus strategy ($460,000 approximately).
The SSAF Committee would like to receive your feedback regarding these proposals. Feedback is then compiled and presented to the members of the SSAF Committee (SSAFC) at their next monthly meeting. Please send your comments to Ms. Michelle Clarke, Chief Financial Officer, at Michelle.Clarke@une.edu.au, by Tuesday 5 August. Further information about SSAFC’s work, and SSAF in general, is available on the UNE website: http://www.une.edu.au/study/fees/student-services-and-amenities-fee/managing-the-fee.
Due to timing considerations, several small items have progressed, for example, purchase of student badges for those attending work practicums, and the purchase of the license for the student app, “The Box”. Thank you too to those students who are already engaging in the SSAF consultation process.
