ANZAC DAY: On-campus Service details; Library Open 1-5pm; Lectures off (unless otherwise advised)
It’s ANZAC Day tomorrow so that means no lectures (unless you’ve been advised otherwise) so get along to the on-campus service – see details below. Oh, and the Libary is open from 1-5pm 🙂
ANZAC Day – 25 April – is one of Australia’s most important national occasions. It marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War.
The University of New England has been commemorating Anzac Day since 2000. The UNE Anzac Day Ceremony honours both staff and students who have fallen during active duty.
The Ceremony is held in The Memorial Rose Garden between Yarm Gwanga Child Care Centre and The Union Building. It commences at 8.00 am on Anzac Day, 25 April and all staff, students and community members are invited to attend.
