ITD will be performing maintenance on University IT systems and services this Saturday, 15th October 2016. The full-day maintenance will commence from 6am and will complete by 6pm and as a result most services will experience periods of disruption.

For staff and on-campus students:

Staff should expect intermittent outages as systems are restarted following maintenance updates. Network connections as well as internet access will be temporarily unavailable in different locations across campus during the day.

ITD will be switching off the old Alcatel PABX during the outage. This should not have any effect on current phone extensions, but if you do become aware of phones / extensions that have issues after the weekend, please contact the IT Service Desk.

The VPN (Virtual Private Network) server will also be upgraded as part of the maintenance. If you are a current users of the VPN client, you will be prompted to install an upgrade to the client when you next start a VPN connection with UNE.

For off-campus students: Moodle and student email should NOT be affected.

  • No work is planned on Moodle. However, we recommend that you download any materials (such as readings and lecture recording) you require over the weekend to your local system to make sure you have access in case of any unplanned outages or disruptions.
  • Student Email (Office365 emails @myune.edu.au) will be available throughout the day.

This event is one of ITD’s scheduled maintenance windows, during which essential work is carried out to enhance and improve University systems.

The schedule of maintenance windows for 2016 and 2017 can be found on the ITD website (http://www.une.edu.au/staff-current/staff-services/it-services/it-maintenance-dates ).  Please check these dates before planning any events that may require IT services or support.
