Dear Colleagues and Students,

ITD will be performing maintenance on University systems and services this Saturday the 21st of May 2011.

The maintenance will commence from 4am and will complete by midday. A number of systems and services will be unavailable during this period.

For Students:
·        All Students – The Virtual Learning Environment and related online systems will be unavailable from 4:00am for a minimum of 5 hours as key infrastructure components are upgraded to improve long term availability

·        On-campus students – we are performing upgrades across our network.  There may be a brief internet outage and services may be intermittently disrupted throughout the day.  You should be able to reconnect immediately following service recommencement.

For Staff:
·        Core business systems will be unavailable form 4:00am for a minimum of 5 hours while key infrastructure components are upgraded to improve long term availability

·        Staff email, MFD printing, photocopying and scanning  and other staff services will experience interruptions during the outage as we perform maintenance on our servers.

·        We are performing upgrades across our network.  There may be a brief internet outage and services may be intermittently disrupted throughout the day.  You should be able to reconnect immediately following service recommencement.

This event is one of a regular schedule of maintenance windows during which essential upgrades and maintenance improvements are applied to University systems. The schedule of maintenance windows for 2011 is  on the ITD website (http://www.une.edu.au/it-services/policies/ ).  Please check these dates before planning any events that may require I.T. services or support.

Schedule times may vary to cater for important events such as residential schools and notices regarding the schedule of maintenance windows will be posted on the ITD Services Announcements web page before each scheduled window.
