ITD will be performing maintenance on University systems and services this Saturday the 19th March 2011 – morning only.
The maintenance will commence from 6am and will complete by midday and a number of systems and services will be unavailable during this period.

For Students:
· Off campus students – there will be a brief internet outage during the morning when we test the new backup link to our AARNet network in Sydney.  This should only last a few seconds and if you are unlucky enough to be affected you should be able to reconnect immediately.  MFD printing, scanning and photocopying will experience interruptions as we perform maintenance on our servers.

· On-campus students – we are upgrading the firmware across our network.  There will be the brief internet outage (as above) and network connectivity interruptions of up to 10 minutes for each area of campus as we perform rolling restarts of each part of our network.  You should be able to reconnect immediately following service recommencement.


For Staff:
· There will be a brief internet outage as we test the new network backup link to the AARNet network in Sydney. This should only last a few seconds and if you are unlucky enough to be affected you should be able to reconnect immediately.

· If you are working on-campus on Saturday morning (or connecting directly to computers on campus from home) we are upgrading firmware on our network devices.  This will cause network connectivity interruptions of up to 10 minutes for each area of campus as we perform rolling restarts of each part of our network.  You should be able to reconnect immediately following service recommencement.

· Staff email, MFD printing, photocopying and scanning will experience interruptions during the outage as we perform maintenance on our servers.
