The University of New England is now providing Sophos Antivirus software for free to students on their personal computers. Sophos antivirus is an enterprise level antivirus software solution used by Government departments, corporations and Universities worldwide.
Now UNE students can get virus protection worth hundreds of dollars a year absolutely free!
Every computer connected to the internet should have current antivirus software installed. If you do not currently have antivirus protection on your computer, or your current software is old and out-of-date, Sophos will offer you enterprise level antivirus protection at no cost to you.
Comprehensive installation instructions and frequently asked questions are available from the website about. Please make sure you review the installation instructions before downloading and installing the software. ITD offers limited support for the software, but if you do have problems with the software after checking the instructions and the website, please contact the Service Desk for advice.
