As one of the region’s largest employers, UNE staff connected with job seekers, employment agencies and business at the Job Fair this week hosted by Workforce Australia at the Armidale Bowling Club. Prospective employees gained insight and advice about the variety of career options and pathways across the university. It was a lively, engaging and a positive experience for all, with around 150 participants.

A diverse UNE team supported the stall throughout the day, ensuring we catered to a wide range of career interests and needs in the community/region. The team:

  • Captured 45 potential candidates in our database designed specifically for the event
  • Marketed UNE’s job vacancies, career paths and courses
  • Strengthened UNE’s networks with job agencies and provided resources around UNE’s values, objectives and capability requirements
  • Shared UNE’s commitment to innovation, using the example of the UNE SmartFarm
  • Demonstrated our committed to diversity, especially through our Aboriginal Programs and LGBTQIA+ Inclusion and Awareness Training
  • Promoted of Oorala, UNE Life, the Dixon Library and NOVA facilities.
