A push to boost skills in the NSW MidCoast region’s agricultural sector has resulted in a partnership between UNE, Taree Universities Campus (TUC) and Hunter Local Land Services

Hunter Local Land Services is providing a total of $20,000 in scholarship support for students who take up any one of six ag-related UNE courses through 2021-2022.

The scholarships can be put toward study-related costs, like course fees, text books, travel to intensives in Armidale, or maybe a new computer.

Students who are enrolled to study online any of the following UNE (University of New England) Agriculture degrees through Taree Universities Campus are eligible to apply for assistance:

• Bachelor of Agribusiness
• Bachelor of Agricultural & Resource Economics
• Bachelor of Agriculture
• Bachelor of Agriculture/Bachelor of Business (Joint Program)
• Bachelor of Rural Science
• Bachelor of Sustainability

TUC CEO Donna Ballard thanked Hunter Local Land Services for their strong support and encouraged potential ag students to apply soon.

“We are incredibly grateful to Local Land Services for this opportunity for students to seek financial help,” Mrs Ballard said.

“UNE courses are filling fast for 2021, so if you’re keen to study agriculture online and you live here in the MidCoast, please give us a call on 1300 169 990 or visit our website https://www.tareeuni.org.au/browse-courses

“We’re also excited to announce the Local Land Services sponsorship will include work and training placements in the region’s agriculture sector, student involvement in ag research projects and field trials, as well as tutoring and mentoring.”
