UNE historian, Associate Professor David Andrew Roberts, has been appointed co-editor of Australia’s oldest and most highly-regarded academic journal of Australian history – Australian Historical Studies. Published continuously since 1940, it’s recognised as the only Australian history journal with an international profile.

Professor Roberts’ appointment follows 16 years of editing UNE’s Journal of Australian Colonial History. He and co-editor Professor Lisa Ford, from the University of New South Wales, will showcase the best work of both established and rising history scholars, focusing on a variety of historical themes.

Their first volume, to be released shortly, features a cluster of articles on ‘new migrant histories’, exploring multiple aspects of the post-World War II immigrant experience.
