While there have not yet been confirmed cases of Japanese Encephalitis Virus (JEV) in the Moree area, the routine surveillance of mosquitos did detect the virus in mosquitos in Moree on 7 January 2025. The School of Rural Medicine and the Primary Health Network are hosting a clinical update webinar via Teams on Thursday 13th February 6:30 – 7:30 pm.
This webinar will bring together GPs, local public health clinicians, infectious disease clinicians, and researchers to discuss the latest developments regarding JEV in NSW and the Hunter New England region. The webinar will cover information about JEV: the clinical picture and epidemiology, vaccination, who is at risk, with a case-based panel discussion.
