The food and feed markets are abuzz with the emerging protein source of insects! However, regulations have not caught up with this new and fast developing industry. Dr Sharl Marimuthu from #UNELaw with colleagues from Finland and the Netherlands, had their paper published in the April 2021 special issue of ‘Journal of Insects as Food and Feed’. Their paper compares insect food and feed regulation in the primary production and marketing areas: European Union; United States of America; Canada; Australia; as well as a number of countries in Central and South America, Asia and Africa.
