Do you want to sit on the couch and watch the Tokyo Olympics and not feel so guilty? Well, studying Sports Law in Trimester 2 may be just for you. If you enrol in this unit you can immerse yourself in the world of winter sport, and the Tokyo Olympics, with absolutely no guilt – whilst completing your law degree!!

#UNELaw’s Sports Law unit will educate you on many of the legal issues relating to sports. Attending your next dinner party or BBQ will be a hoot as you will be able to provide your mates with an educated opinion on the legal issues relating to the Jack de Belin or Shayna Jack saga for example! You will also learn about match fixing and doping in professional sport. Even though the focus of the unit will primarily relate to the Australian context, the unit will have an international flavour.

Dr Ciprian Radavoi will be coordinating this exciting unit over the during Tri 2. Ciprian has a particular interest in Sports Law as in his youth he almost became a professional sportsperson. When Ciprian was a young man in Bucharest, he had to decide whether he wanted to pursue volleyball professionally or attend university. Lucky for us he chose to attend university. Nowadays, aside from teaching Sports Law and other legal matters, he occasionally sits in sports disciplinary tribunals as an independent expert.

I am sure you are already convinced enrolling in this unit is a no brainer, but if not here is another great reason to complete it. Having a good understanding of Sports Law may make you more employable!! In recent times governance has become front and centre of the world of sports. This means sporting clubs / associations and national sporting organisations are employing more people with legal knowledge to be on their boards. This is because of concerns relating to natural justice and questions relating to the fairness of decisions in sport.

Numbers are limited in this course so make sure you enrol in Sports Law Now!
