Legal Team Coordinator

Argyle Lawyers is a boutique Australian law firm located in the Sydney CBD. Argyle offers innovative commercial and private client legal services nationally and internationally in the areas of taxation, superannuation, estate and succession planning, trusts, litigation, property law, commercial law and family law.

An opportunity has arisen for a legal administrator to join Argyle as a Team Coordinator. The role is multi-faceted, requiring savvy business management skills as well as outstanding legal administrative skills. It would appeal to someone who wants to be engaged in all aspects of the team’s performance, broaden their skill set and be valued for their contribution.

 The role

This role is an ideal opportunity for a law student, available for full time work in Sydney CBD, with a minimum of 2 years further study till graduation. We know this scenario works. It has been tried and tested. The role has become available due to the current Coordinator and UNE Law Student, being progressed to a Paralegal role.

Our Team Coordinators are an integral part of our business, they are responsible for the overall smooth running and management of their team including;

 Establishing positive Client Relationships

  • Engage with clients and establish yourself as a responsive point of contact
  • Support your team by assisting in a variety of client communications and setting client expectations

Managing team Workflow

  • Monitor workflow, turnaround times and support the team in meeting deadlines.
  • Develop and follow firm practices across file opening, document management and general systems, policies and processes

Providing Administrative support

  • File opening, closing and archiving
  • Prepare and issue Retainer Agreements
  • Word-processing tasks such as preparing, amending and formatting documents and correspondence
  • Diary Management
  • Arranging and preparing for team meetings and lunch sessions
  • Occasional reception relief

 

Assisting with team (and firm) Marketing

  • Work with the team on tailored marketing events such as seminars and presentations including issuing invitations, rsvp management, copy and collation of handouts, set up, meeting & greeting guests

 

Managing team Financials

  • Stay across your teams WIP & Debtors
  • Manage monthly team billings
  • Keep an eye on the trust fund account and advice team members of status accordingly

 

Essential requirements

  • Some experience working in a law firm
  • Intermediate MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Experience on Lexis Nexis Affinity is advantageous (however not essential)
  • Hard working and committed
  • Professional personal appearance and manner
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Efficient time management and highly organised
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Team player (across the entire business, not just your team)
