As you know, since last year, we have changed the way academic development is offered. Based on your feedback from the Academic Need Assessment Survey, we made changes to the programs offered.

Customised workshops

For the schools and faculties, the need-based catered workshops can be offered. So, if you have a great idea that you would want to collaborate with academic development, or you feel the need to develop some specific skills, please get in touch.

Academic Portfolio Development

This year, I am offering a pilot ePortfolio mentoring program for a small number of education-focused academics at UNE. The program will support participants to develop a professional academic portfolio (using PebblePad or a platform of your choice) that aligns with UNE promotion criteria, particularly evidence of teaching quality, educational leadership, impact, and sustained contribution.

A well-curated professional portfolio is increasingly critical for promotion, confirmation, probation, and award or fellowship applications. It enables academics to systematically gather, curate, and frame evidence in ways that clearly demonstrate impact and progression.

This is not a one-off academic development activity, but a sustained, mentored process. Participants should expect to commit 4–5 hours per month. The program will run from March to early December and will include monthly group sessions and individual one-to-one mentoring.

Places are limited to ensure meaningful mentoring. There is no formal EOI; if you are interested, please email Kashmira Dave directly with a brief statement of interest.
