In the most recent monthly myLearn update, the visibility of the “ReDo AIM” penalty has been improved for both students and unit coordinators.
The Academic Integrity Policy states (26.2) that one of the potential penalties for academic integrity breaches is to “re-take the Academic Integrity Module within 20 working days”.
A student who has been asked to re-do the AIM but does not, despite multiple reminders, comply with the request within the allowed timeframe, has their AIM badge revoked and consequently will be unable to submit any myLearn assignments until they recomplete the AIM and inform the Academic Integrity team.
In the past, there has been no indication to students or unit coordinators that the penalty had been applied, which has caused some confusion. The most recent update to myLearn introduces two new features to improve this.
Student View:
Students who need to redo the Academic Integrity module and have been blocked from future submissions now see a red warning box in each of the units they are enrolled in.
Staff View:
Unit coordinators will see the “ReDo AIM – No Submit” role against the student in the Participants List of their unit. A tooltip provides more information.
If students contact you and have questions about the submission block or the academic integrity case, please advise them to check their UNE emails and to get in touch with the Academic Integrity team (academicintegrity@une.edu.au) if questions remain.
