Starting Monday, 22nd April, we will start a process to COPY existing Kaltura recordings across into echoVideo.
What that means for you is that any content you currently “own” and see in your Kaltura library will be copied across into echoVideo. We expect this process to take a few days. When it is completed you will see a copy of your current Kaltura content in your echoVideo library.
You can access the echoVideo content either via the “EchoVideo library” link from your myLearn profile image OR directly via echoVideo at https://echo360.net.au/ (user your UNE email address to log in.
When will Kaltura be switched off?
Our agreement with Kaltura ends at the end of June 2024. Access to Kaltura will be unavailable after that date.
Do I need to update my links to Kaltura videos?
We are working on a process to bulk update links to existing Kaltura content in both myLearn and Squiz (UNE website). At this point you do not need to manually update content links. However, if you want to update your EXISTING links in either systems to the new echoVideo links, you are welcome to do so. For any NEW content or content embeds, please link to the content in your echoVideo library, not the old Kaltura content.
To update links in myLearn, choose the pink (raspberry) echoVideo option in the myLearn text editor to browse to your content and to insert into your myLearn units from your echoVideo library. You can the delete the existing link to Kaltura to replace the content.
For any systems other than myLearn and Squiz, eg blog sites or external webpages, links will need to be manually updated before the June cut-off date.
Where can I find out more?
Check Teaching Online for details on how to use echoVideo into a myLearn site. Or take a look at the recording of our recent staff development session for some of the advanced echoVideo features you might not know about, such as the Zoom integration for automatic upload of Zoom recordings to your myLearn site.
