Following hot on the the heels of the review of the learning management system and the successful launch of myLearn in October, our attention will turn to video tools in 2024.
There will be a number of changes and improvements over the next 12 months (Watch this space!) starting with a move to EchoVideo (from Kaltura) for student video assignments for Trimester 1 / 2024.
Change for T1: Video Assignments
For Trimester 1/2024, student video assignments will be set up for students to use EchoVideo to create, upload and embed into the myLearn assignment. We will start updating instructions and communicating this change to students from the start of 2024.
What does this mean for students?
Students will create and/or upload the video they would like to submit in the EchoVideo interface and then submit the assignment file using the same process as currently (ie embed the link into a text assignment set up in myLearn). This is a relatively minor change to the creation / upload process, with no substantial change to the submission process itself.
What does this mean for unit coordinators and markers?
The process for setting up video assignments and for grading the submissions remains unchanged.
