Live transcripts during Zoom sessions can now be enabled by the host and made available as an option to participants who choose to display it. Transcripts are generated live and automatically; the quality and accuracy of the captions can vary depending on the audio quality, speaker clarity etc. They’re a great accessibility and productivity tool and are easy to enable.

If you host a meeting and would like to enable Live Transcripts:

In your meeting settings, click on the CC option along the bottom toolbar and select “Enable Auto Transcription”. Note that the setting is set to “Off” by default and will need to be enabled for every meeting

If you are a participant in a Zoom meeting and would like to view Live Transcripts:

In your meeting options, click on the CC option along the bottom toolbar and choose to display the transcripts. You can set the size and the location of the live transcript.

An option to request live transcripts will be available in most meetings if they are not already enabled by the host.  Requesting live transcripts will notify the host of your request and present the option to enable the feature to them.
