A collaborative project between the Port Arthur Historic Site Management Authority and Dr Richard Tuffin, Postdoctoral Research Fellow, University of New England. The three year project comprises the largest and most comprehensive historical archaeological investigation of a site of convict labour in Australia. During 2020 and 2021 the site of the former workshops of the Port Arthur penal station (Tasmania, Australia, 1830-1877) was investigated, followed by a programme of materials and historical analysis.
