The Framework

UNE has developed the Academic Integrity @ UNE Framework to serve as a compass for staff, students and the broader university community. The framework consists of three foundational elements, which together create UNE’s overall vision for academic integrity:

  • A robust ecosystem of preventative measures, detection mechanisms and security protocols to support identification and deterrence of misconduct

Competency in technologies and practices is crucial for future-focused academic and professional practice. UNE facilitates competency through:

  • Skill development opportunities for students and staff
  • Informed decision-making and accountability
  • Supporting critical and creative engagement with technologies 

Equity of access to higher education and equity of outcomes are core to UNE’s mission. UNE facilitates equity through:

  • Clear and consistent expectations for decision-making
  • Support mechanisms to enable all students to effectively engage
  • Equitable provision of tools and services 

Framework in action

UNE commits to enacting the framework through:​

  • Design and delivery of robust and fit-for purpose teaching, learning, research and assessment activities
  • Promoting the principles of academic and research integrity and taking action to prevent and address breaches of academic integrity
  • Educating staff and students on appropriate and ethical practice
