furthering women @ UNE

During 2009 the Minister of the Status of Women ordered a review of the Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workplace Act (EOWWA), and the agency charged with overseeing the Act, Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workplace Agency (EOWA). The review was asked to consider how effective both the Act and the Agency were in promoting equal opportunity for women in the workplace. The consultations have been completed and the report is available below. We are now awaiting the Federal Government’s response.

The Act governs the climate in which institutions such as Universities operate in promoting equal opportunity for women in the workplace.UNE’s response to the requirements of the Act are reported every year by Employment Equity & Diversity.
