There have been instances recently in which emergency editing was required in an area, and there wasn’t a web editor available through either lack of access to an area, or lack of a second editor. This can happen if trained staff move to a different unit, or staff go on leave.
The Web Team doesn’t have the staff to edit pages while you are away. It is up to each area to make sure that they always have staff available for emergency editing. Please read the staffing guidelines for web editors for two solutions to this problem. We do step into the breach in emergency situations, but please be aware that if we do so, it is at the expense of other work and web jobs for other members of the UNE community.
Update: Malcolm Abel has offered to be an emergency back-up editor for Arts and Sciences.
