I have recently added a post to our faq to clarify that this current version of TRIM does not support Office 2010.
This Outlook addin in the current version (TRIM 6.1.4) is too old and and technically speaking only officially supports Outlook 2003.
It will not work reliably in Outlook 2007 but manages to cause little fuss. It has been found to be too unstable in Outlook 2010 to work and is not recommended.
Our TRIM upgrade will upgrade to TRIM 7.1.2 which includes a new addin since TRIM 7.1 that will fully support Office 2010.
So if you enjoy using the functionality of Office integration say “No” to an Office upgrade until the new version of TRIM comes out.

Ironically, a former risk and audit employee, responsible for detecting internal risks in systems, who recently left the company taking with her thousands of pages of highly sensitive and confidential documents has allegedly lost the USB thumbstick she copied all the documents onto. The company only learned of this once the work laptop was returned 3 weeks later.
The author points out that this is part of a trend where organisations like wikileaks prospers. This illustrates the importance of corporate data protection and proper document and records management in public and private corporations, particularly by utilising the right software systems, security matrix and proper protocols.

We have updated the Global Settings to bind the keyboard button ‘F2′ to the ‘Properties…’ button. This will mean that you will not have to search for the ‘Properties…’ button in the toolbar or ‘Right-Click’ and ‘Click’ on ‘Properties…’.
This means it is also more aligned with the standard Windows Explorer (and other shells) ‘Rename’ functionality allowing users to press F2 to rename a record.
Please note if you do not have the right permissions you will not be able to rename the record only view its properties. This will only be effective on User who have updated to the global settings or have installed TRIM from this date forth. To switch this feature on simply update to the global settings. Tools | User Configurations | Options | Get Global | Yes.
Sorry its taken a while to implement this, its a simple tweak and I hope it demonstrates how we are committed to continually improving your TRIM experience which in turn will hopefully help increase efficiency while using TRIM.

A dev testing environment has been created and testing with a exact copy of production has begun. All testing so far has had positive results. Upgrading TRIM to HP TRIM 6.2.5 then to HP TRIM 7 is next on the agenda. We’ll keep you posted on any changes

We have moved the TRIMUserInstall.exe file to a UNE secure path on the webserver from the TRIM Download page http://www.une.edu.au/records-management/download-trim.php.
We hope that this will make TRIM easier to locate and install and remove some of the barriers to entry such the your web browser selection giving users more free (as in freedom) choice.
Previously only users that used Internet Explorer would be supported to access the barney file server where TRIM was stored (and still will be stored) with the link we provided. Previously, only IE supported the ‘file://’ command and tied authentication into the active directory domain.
We hope this will mean people will be able to download TRIM with which browser they prefer in exchange for a manual UNE username and password authentication which was previously handled by the domain. We are committed to continual improvement our installation processes. Watch this space

I recently spotted some video’s of the look and feel of TRIM 7. I believe that what we will be installed will be a later version of what is in these video’s but should none the less give an accurate view of what TRIM will look like.

Very interesting read about Public and Private Data. Also looks into how to tackle the issue of data privacy in the long run.
if German courts decide German murderers should be able to delete all references to their convictions after a certain period of time, would this German standard apply to the Web?

The price of VM Ware Fusion for MacOS has been updated on our website from $89 to the current price of $54.95. Which is whopping 38% drop in price!
Even in the face of a upcoming webclient for TRIM which will be supported for Firefox or IE on a MacOS, I would recommend any heavy duty MacOS to use this VM Ware solution because of its tight integration in UNE environments.
