In recent surveys of Soy crops on the Liverpool Plains we have been coming across large numbers of Green Vegetable Bugs (GVB – Nezara viridula) that have been parasitised by the introduced Tachinid fly, Trichopoda Giacomelli (see image above). The invasive Asian honey bee, Apis cerana, (in picture at right) was first identified as entering Australia in 2007. Since that time efforts have been made by the Federal Government to eradicate the bee.
