Prof Belinda Tynan (who’s responsible for the e-University project) is running a fantastic competition to get student thoughts on what studying will be like in 2020 … get involved folks!
New communication technology is transforming the world in which we live and learn. What will this mean for the university student of 2020? Remember that the typical 2020 student might be studying by distance, part-time, at home, at work, on-campus, or any combination of these.
Entry Conditions and Rules
The work needs to be 300 words or less and can be in the form of an essay, story, poem or script. It must be an original unpublished piece of work by the entrant. All students currently enrolled as UNE students are eligible. There is no entry fee and a maximum of three entries permitted per person. Entries exceeding the word length will be disqualified. While creativity is encouraged, entries must not contain foul language, racial or sexually explicit content that would render the entry unsuitable for publication. For judging purposes, the text needs to be submitted to e-University@une.edu.au with an MSWord attachment containing only the text and with no name or identifying marks in the body of the attached text. Your full name and student number must be included in the body of the email (not the attachment). Entries must be received by 2pm on 26th October, 2009. Late entries will not be accepted. An expert panel of judges will have absolute discretion in awarding prizes and no correspondence will be entered into. Judges also reserve the right to award runner prizes. The e-University project office will hold the right to reproduce entries free of charge in any UNE publication or website and in local and national media. The Inventing the Future Story competition is organised by the UNE e-University project and is co-sponsored by MAC1 at UNE.
