PEER SUPPORT: shout out for senior students

We are looking for experienced on and off campus students to become  PEER  SUPPORTERS for our new students. We will train you, you can earn New England Award points, and you will play an important role in making our new UNE students feel welcome in their first weeks of study.

WE are looking for students to be supporters  NOW or to register your interest to be a SUPPORTER in 2010

    I am only in my second semester of uni at 55-years of age. My experience has been great, despite initial concerns and fear of failure.

    I believe I could make a difference to students who are also fearful as they begin their studies.

    I have supported peers and mentees ranging from some in their teen years (through Australia Business Community Network)up to peer-support and mentoring of middle-managers within the financial services industry.

    I appreciate that I am a new student myself to UNE. Yet my past UWS experience, plus my years in facilitation and instructional design of adult education, coupled with my 7 years as an etutor for qantas College may be of use this semester to new on-line participants.
