EXAMS: Advice for Students with flu-like symptoms

flu_und_legende_color_c“Following advice from the Australian Dept of Health regarding the Human Swine Flu Pandemic, individuals are advised to consider avoiding contact with other people if they have flu like symptoms, or to wear a face mask when in contact with others.

If you live in Australia and have flu like symptoms on the day of your exam, you should consider following this advice:

If you miss your exam due to illness and have a medical certificate, you may apply for a Special Examination via http://www.une.edu.au/exams/app-special-examination.pdf. Follow the instructions on the application form.

For those students who already have a special exam from last semester, please note that it is not possible to apply for a further deferment of these exams.  Contact the UNE Student Centre directly (via AskUNE) for advice if you find that you are not able to attend a ‘special’ exam being held for you in June due to illness.  You may be able to apply for a withdrawal without academic penalty, but this is subject to a strict approval process.

Students residing or travelling outside of Australia should follow the government advice relevant to the country they are in”
