Extra Counselling Appointments

We realise that during intensive schools you have limited free time, so if you would like to make a time for a face-to-face consultation with a counsellor at Student ASSIST, it helps to make an appointment before you come to Armidale. You may wish to speak to a counsellor about concerns re: stress, anxiety, not enough time in the day, improving self-confidence, relationships, motivation to study, relationships, etc, etc. During the intensive schools period, the counselling team will endeavor to make extra appointments available during lunchtime periods and later in the day (4pm and 5pm). Hopefully this will mean you can access our service without missing any classes. Appointments are usually up to 50 minutes long and the service is free and confidential. Ring 02 6773 2897 to make an appointment. If you can’t see a counsellor while you are on campus, remember that you can also ring throughout the year to arrange a time for one of the counsellors to phone you.

Lunchtime Workshops

The counsellors at Student ASSIST will be offering lunchtime workshops during your intensive school period to help you deal with difficulties you may be experiencing with procrastination and exam anxiety. These workshops will be held in the Learning Commons in Dixson Library in room PBLI at the following times. No need to book, just turn up.

“Procrastination Busters”: Wednesday 15th April and Tuesday 21st April

“Gearing Up For Exams”: Thursday 16th April and Thursday 23rd April
