Want to stay in one of the Colleges on campus?

Subject to availability, you may request accommodation at your preferred college or be allocated with other students from your unit attending this residential school. Please note: if your college of first preference (eg Mary White) is either full or not open, you will be reallocated to a different college.

Accommodation will be available at Mary White College, Austin College and St Alberts’ College for the April Residential School.  UPDATE: Mary White College is booked out for the 19 -23 April 2009 inclusive.

All actual room allocations in a residence are subject to change without notice.  However, as your application is being processed the Room Type and location will change from Default Default to Standard Room(room type) and the abbreviated name of the residence(location). For instance, MWC is Mary White College, St Alberts’ College is SA and Austin College is AU.

PAYMENT METHODS

A Tax invoice/receipt will be sent to you as acknowledgment of your booking. All tariffs include GST.   The cut off date to receive the Early Bird Rate for the April Residential School period is the 20 March 2009. You must book online by this date to be eligible for this rate.

The payment methods are outlined on the tax invoice. The UNE colleges accept BPay and PostPay and credit card payments can be made via these options. Bpay and PostPay details will be provided on the tax invoice which will be sent to you after submission of this form. St Albert ’s College only accepts cheques and credit cards.

If you have an outstanding debt on your residential account your booking will not be accepted.

If your accommodation booking is for the April residential school period your tax invoice will be emailed to you within 3 working days of submission of this form from the 1 March 2009. PLEASE ENSURE YOU CHECK THE EMAIL ADDRESS PROVIDED. This tax invoice will also indicate which college you have been allocated to for your stay. If you have any queries about your account please contact the College you have been assigned.  Accommodation bookings made for later in the year will be dealt with at the appropriate time.

If payment is not received within 10 days of dispatch of the tax invoice, or prior to arrival if this occurs first, the colleges reserve the right to cancel the booking.

BOOKING ROOMS FOR AN ACCOMPANYING PERSON/S

If you require accommodation for an accompanying person/s, who is/are not attending a residential school, please enter the details in the space provided on the online form.  Accompanying person/s are generally allocated a standard single room.

Carer

No Fee is applicable for Carer. If a student with a disability, who is registered with the Disability Unit, Equity Office needs to bring a carer to provide support during the school, please enter the details on the online form. There is no charge for the carer’s accommodation. You should give any details about special needs for accommodation under Other Special Requests .

Children

Parents are urged, if possible, to make alternative arrangements for the accommodation of their children, as family style accommodation is not available and college premises are generally unsuitable.

Parents must be responsible for the supervision of their children at all times and under no circumstances must children be left on college premises without adult supervision.

CANCELLATION POLICY

To cancel all or part of your college accommodation booking as requested on this form please use the online form to amend or cancel your booking. If this is not possible, you may notify the External Students’ Accommodation Office by telephone, fax or mail. The following cancellation fee applies to full or part cancellations of bookings:

ARRIVAL INFORMATION

College accommodation commences after 2.00 pm on your day of arrival, unless you have arranged otherwise with the college. Please go to the college office to confirm arrival and collect a room key. Normal college office hours are 9.00 am to 5.00 pm, Monday to Friday. Should you arrive outside these hours, please contact the duty tutor on the telephone and number provided in the office foyer. Dinner is served in the college dining hall 5.30pm-6.45pm.  If you are arriving 6.45pm-8.00pm and would like a meal to be kept for you, please indicate this in the dietary requirements section on the form.  Meals will not be kept after 8.00pm.  If you are arriving after 9.00 pm , and you have not advised this fact on your booking form, please notify your allocated college.

MEALS

The evening meal is served in your college dining hall between 5.30pm and 6.45pm . Dinner and breakfast are supplied in the tariff (and lunch if you are staying at Mary White college – ask the college for a packed lunch if that is more convenient) and these meals must be taken in the college in which you are accommodated.

DEPARTURE

You will need to vacate your room by 10.00 am on your last day, and breakfast (lunch in the case of Mary White college) is normally the last meal provided. Luggage can be stored at the college on your day of departure, if required.

LOSS OF KEY

No key deposit is charged by the colleges, however, there will be a fee charged by the college if the key is not returned when checking out of your room.

HOW TO BOOK CAMPUS ACCOMMODATION

Please complete the online Booking Form.

If you have stayed in a UNE residential college since 2005 your details and account will already be set up.  To find out your pin number please select the “Forgot your password” and complete details as requested.  In most cases, an email will be generated and sent to your UNE email account.  If no response is received please select “Apply for accommodation for the first time”.
