We’re developing a radio show especially for Distance students and would love to know what you would love to know! I’ll be interviewing people from around campus and talking about resources and services designed for YOU. If there is something in particular you’d like to know more about leave a comment or email me mduncan3@une.edu.au and I’ll see if I can find someone to fill us in on the details. The radio program “DE Brief” will be available as a podcast. I’ll let you know when the first program is available.

I think things needed to discuss are things like:
support - whats out there? how can we access it?
time management - you have to be so much more disciplined to study off campus, so things like timetabling, organising a study space
how other people do it - ie with time management, maybe see if people could email in on how they manage to juggle work/family life/other commitments etc with university, or how they arrange their study space, what gadgets do they find make life easier etc - even if its just put up on a website
how to organise study groups within your units - things like MSN, email, local study groups etc - I find it’s really good to have someone to go to and say look im having a really bad time with this, usually people are going through the same thing, and its also good to have people there to say look - stop stuffing around, pull your finger out and just do it!
Rights - just things like if you think you have received an unfair mark - you can get it remarked. I felt this way last year, but didnt find out till the beginning of this year that I could have asked for it to be remarked.
Think thats it for now - sorry its so long!
Thanks for your great comments Jade - really helpful and I’ll try to address them over the next little while
Cheers
