Our next scheduled maintenance outage on Saturday 26th June necessarily includes a large volume of critical and complex change, much of which is to support the ongoing stabilisation programme for the University’s network but which will also include commissioning of servers in readiness for the next releases of our key systems, Calista Student and Alesco HRS on the Oracle 11g platform. As such we will be extending the maintenance window to be the whole day on both Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th June.


ITD will be performing maintenance work between 6:00am on Saturday 26th to 5:00pm on Sunday 27th and as a result of this:

1.      Access to all University business systems and interactive web modules e.g. Course and Unit catalogue, myUNE will be unavailable.  The UNE AARNet (internet) connection will experience several relatively short outages.  The University PABX will also be affected however this is only expected to occur on the Saturday. Access to Blackboard and Sakai will be intermittently unavailable.

2.      There will be disruptions to all other services throughout both days.

This is our first notice for this maintenance event.  As the date draws closer and we have confirmation from vendors about their availability for these activities we will post a more detailed schedule for the work to be performed.

This event is one of a regular schedule of maintenance windows during which essential upgrades and maintenance improvements are applied to University systems. A schedule of maintenance windows for 2010 is available on the ITD website. Please check these dates before planning any additional events that may require I.T. services or support.

Schedule times may vary to cater for important events such as residential schools and notices regarding the schedule of maintenance windows will be posted on the ITD Services Announcements web page before each scheduled window.
