ITD-Info: Exchange (mailserver) maintenance – 5.00pm for a maximum of 2 hours (

To carry out essential maintenance of the Exchange mailserver, the Exchange email service will be unavailable from 5.00pm for a maximum of TWO HOURS today, Monday 11th January 2010.
During this maintenance outage, no new emails will be delivered to Outlook / Entourage, nor will you be able to send emails or use the web interface (OLA) at http://exchange.une.edu.au.

No emails will go missing during the maintenance; they will remain on the server and will be delivered as soon as the Exchange service is back up and running before 7.00 pm tonight.
Please note that student email account and staff accounts not yet migrated to the Exchange server will not be affected.

Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

ITD-Info: Scheduled Maintenance – Saturday 9th January 2010

In accordance with the ITD’s scheduled maintenance window plan, the next maintenance event will occur on Saturday the 9th of January 2010.

ITD will be performing maintenance work between 6:00am and 11am and as a result of this,

· Blackboard Online Teaching System will be unavailable for approximately 2 hours
· Services reliant upon Windows Server infrastructure e.g. domain authentication, file shares, printing; will individually be unavailable for short periods as each server and system is updated and restarted
· Services reliant upon Unix Server infrastructure e.g. web sites, myUne, student email; will individually be unavailable for short periods as each server and system is updated and restarted
· Exchange email services including Webmail may be briefly unavailable as a new security certificate is added

This event is one of a regular schedule of maintenance windows during which essential upgrades and maintenance improvements are applied to University systems. The schedule of maintenance windows for 2010 has been finalised and is on the ITD website. Please check these dates before planning any additional events that may require I.T. services or support.

Schedule times may vary to cater for important events such as residential schools and notices regarding the schedule of maintenance windows will be posted on the ITD Services Announcements web page before each scheduled window.
