Dear Staff and Students,

In accordance with the ITD’s scheduled maintenance window plan, the next maintenance event will occur on Saturday 20th December 2008.

ITD will be performing maintenance work between 6:00am and 12noon. and As a result of this, internet access and the majority of University online services will experience minor disruptions throughout the duration of the maintenance window. This includes internet access. The nature of these minor disruptions is due to individual systems being updated and restarted throughout the maintenance window.

During this period there will also be a complete outage of the Virtual Learning Environment (Sakai, Blackboard, E-Submission, TLCAdmin).

This event is one of a regular schedule of maintenance windows during which essential upgrades and maintenance improvements will be applied to University systems and a schedule of maintenance windows for 2009 will be published shortly.

Schedule times may vary to cater for important events such as residential schools and notices regarding the schedule of maintenance windows will be posted on the ITD Services Announcements web page before each scheduled window.

Please check the ITD service announcements web page regularly for information relating to ITD services interruptions and planned events.

To reiterate, for this scheduled maintenance window, the following systems will be impacted :-

-          Minor disruptions throughout the maintenance window for the majority of University online services including Internet access.

-          Complete outage for Virtual Learning Environment (Sakai, Blackboard, E-Submission, TLCAdmin) -  6:00am to 12noon

-          Date – Saturday 20th December 2008
