Facilities Management Services (FMS) wish to advise that there will be an interruption to the following services due to works being undertaken:

Location: Level 1 & 2 - western end - Zoology Building (S001) 

 Issue:  Temporary disruption to power

 Reason:  Upgrade to Switchboard

FMS wish to advise that tomorrow afternoon Tuesday 25^th November 2008 at 1.00pm the Contractors working on the McClymont roof (W034) will have a crane parked for two hours at the rear (Northern side) of the main building so as to lift materials onto the roof.

Please be advised that this will prohibit access (vehicles) to Rural Science Annexe - West Building (W31), Rural Science Annexe - East Building (W32)  and DNA Laboratory - Animal Calorimetry Building (W33) for the duration (two hours) of these works.

Issue:                        Minor disruptions as Contractor moves through building 

Reason:                     Annual maintenance service on Fume Cupboards 

(Please note:  Can all Fume Cupboards be emptied and wiped down prior to the service.)

Dear Staff and Students,

In accordance with the scheduled maintenance window procedure the next maintenance event will occur on Saturday 15^th November 2008.

ITD will be performing maintenance work between 4:30am and 5:45am. As a result of this ALL internet and the majority of network based university services WILL BE AVAILABLE during this period, with the exception of the following ;-

Blackboard LMS system -  4:30am to 5:15am

This event is one of a regular schedule of maintenance windows during which essential upgrades and maintenance improvements will be applied to University systems.

The schedule includes a major full day outage every quarter and a shorter outage every month. These are scheduled to take place on the third Saturday every month and quarterly in (Jan, Apr, Jul & Oct). Times may be varied to cater for important events such as residential schools and notices regarding the schedule of maintenance windows will be posted on the ITD Services Announcements web page before each scheduled window.

Please check the ITD service announcements web page regularly for information relating to ITD services and events.

To reiterate, for this scheduled maintenance window, the following systems will be unavailable :-

Blackboard LMS system -  4:30am to 5:15am

Date – Saturday 15^th November 2008

There was an unexpected outage of UNE’s internet connection last night at 8:00pm for approximately 40 minutes.

An IT staff member was on campus promptly and was able to rectify the problem.
