    The week @ Robb

    Thursday, September 7th, 2006

    Whats been happening @ Robb?
Well last week at Robb was a very busy week, seeing lots of sports, cultural events and inter-court challenges.
This following week will see the same with grand finals footy and a formal dinner to wrap up the term.

    Fine form @ the SFK
On Friday night the final SFK challenge for the year was performance night with all colleges creating interesting and spectacular musical performances. Robb put in a fantastic musical filled with great dancers, singers and actors that would put the best of Hollywood to shame. Unlike other performances, Robb showed what a lot of other colleges lacked; an interesting, inventive and exciting storyline that kept audiences hooked and entertained throughout.
Congratulations to all who participated on the night, you should all be proud of your effort and fine form, the whole college is proud of your performance! Thank you also to the rest of the college who came out in force to support our ladies and gents, keep up the college spirit!

A very special thank you goes out to Lucy Amos and Simon Maloney for making the performance possible and run smoothly on the night, you both did a fantastic job and should be proud of what you have achieved.

In the end Robb finished 3rd place, leaving performance professionals Earl Page and Drummond & Smith in their wake. Although Robb did not take the top spot we can take comfort in knowing that Austin did not win through talent but won being Robb, and maybe next year they can add a plot to their performance! But in all seriousness CLAP! CLAP! for Austin College, next year you wont be so lucky!

    Gardening Day Sunday!
Sunday 3rd September was Robb’s annual Gardening Day and with the sun shining and residents frolicking around the college gardens got a work over with all three courts showing off their green thumbs and doing a great job making the college look a million dollars. Judging for the best court garden will be carried out next term, so watch this spot for the winner!

    FOOTY FINALS!
Last weekend saw our Robb boys steam train through their opposition and gain a place in the footy grand final.
This Saturday our Robb boys go for the grand final glory against Albies, it will be a tough competition but our boys have been training long and hard to give it their all to their unbeaten opponent.

Forget Fresher Match and everyother game, this is the one that counts, so if you only watch one game of footy this year, make sure its this weekend.

The guys need lots of support so EVERYBODY make sure you all get down there and cheer our boys to victory. Remember to wear your green and whites for ultimate support factor!!
Be warned, you may not have a voice when you return to college.

Good luck boys, give it to ‘em for the college!

    Formal Dinner Tuesday 12th September
This Tuesday 12th of September is the Rural Focus formal dinner, we will be having former Robber Tom Keene now Managing Director of GrainCorp as guest speaker for the dinner, it will be an interesting and exciting dinner so be sure to attend.
Remember all those unable to attend please inform the office immediately!

Dress is semi-formal, and the dinner is 6pm for 6:30pm. PLEASE BE ON TIME!!!

    TIP OF THE WEEK!
Never try to fix anything electrical with fork or knife, make sure you take it to a trained professional. Injuries caused by electrical shock is not cool and hurts!

    QUOTE OF THE WEEK!
Remember to smile, it is free and can make a sad person feel like a million dollars!!

Have a great week everybody!! Take care and be aware!!
