Queerspace @ UNE

Hi everyone. Late November a GLBTI dance will be held in Armidale. The dance is being held at the Wicklow and will be on the 28th of November. At the moment it will start at 7pm with a door cost of $15, the cost on the door is there to raise money for the North West Rainbow Connection (NWRC), an important group in the north west area that has been established to tackle GLBTI issues and talk to the government and community about ways we can solve them. Please come to the dance if you are still in town after Uni has finished as the more people that come and show their support the more likely these events will be held again in the future. We are looking at holding another dance in Armidale Early in the year next year when Uni starts up again so we can involve more students. I will keep you posted if any plans change about the dance in November but keep in your mind the 28th of November 7pm upstairs at the Wicklow with a door cost of $15.

Hi Everyone, National Coming Out Day is is October 11th. I would like to celebrate this at UNE bo hosting a BBQ. As this is a sunday i would be looking to hold it on maybe the 14th instead. Please contact me at qspace@une.edu.au if you would be interested in coming. I need to know numbers as i will not be able to do it if only a couple of people want to be involved. Cheers Luke

Hi All, welcome to the Queerspace @ UNE blog. Here we will post whats happening at the Queerspace and it is a chance for GLBTI students to leave comments and ideas. The Queerspace is a place where GLBTI students can come have a chat, get information and meet other GLBTI students. I will post any new events planned for the space on this site or you can also join the facebook group Queer space @ UNE. The Space has been inactive for the past two years so i am trying to get as many people involved with this group as possible. If you feel you would like to join this group then please feel free to contact me on qspace@une.edu.au or leave a comment on this blog. The queer collective used to be a very active group on the UNE campus and hopefully we can achieve this again. I Hope to hear from as many GLBTI students as i possibly can, and guys just remember your not the only ones out there and if you need to talk to anyone or want to meet other people, just remember we are here.
