  • Concert for Dylan

piano.jpgInstrumental and vocal works by Bach, Mozart, Schubert, Chopin, Rachmaninoff and Faure will be on the program of a lunchtime concert at UNE tomorrow (Tuesday 20 May).

The event is the second of three fund-raising concerts organised by Shizuko Yamagishi, a bilingual tutor in UNE’s School of Behavioural, Cognitive and Social Sciences. The money raised will help Dylan Hardey, a Year 1 student at Sandon Primary School in Armidale, travel with his family to San Diego in the United States to be assessed by specialists in the rare medical condition Jacobsen’s Syndrome.

Ms Yamagishi herself will play piano pieces by Chopin and Schubert, and the program will also include music for solo guitar, flute and piano, and vocal duet.

The concert will be in Room 224 of UNE’s Education Building, beginning at 12:30 pm, and entry is by donation. (The suggested amount is $5 for students and $8 for others.)

The third concert in the series will be in the Auditorium of the C.B. Newling Building (”the Old Teachers’ College”) at 3 pm on Saturday 31 May.
