New Requests
- As a lecturer I would like to allow both the Grade and the Mark to the seen by the student
- As a student I want to be able to submit a ‘draft’ submission to my assignment before the due date and to be able to re-submit until the due date so that if something goes wrong (or I forget) I still have something submitted.
- Modify the submission process for students so that files are automatically converted to pdf as an inline process.
- As a unit-coordinator I need access to the grades in the lms gradebook after final grades are released so I can answer student enquires about final results.
- Adjust the unit clone (sometimes referred to as migration) process so that the old unit title has its Teaching Period added to it. This will help distinguish old and new units.
- We need to promote a new copy of sakai to try to correct current performance issues.
- We need to upgrade blackboard ce6.2 to ce8 to try to improve performance, retain browser compatibility and remove bugs that have been repaired. (Note: There will not be any more service packs for CE6).
- I want students to be able to submit files larger than the current limit allows. Could the current (10mb) limit please be raised.
- When receiving files from eSubmission I need them to be named in a way that allows them to be recognised properly. An example would be: ‘UNITCODE Assignment-Title/Number Student-Name Student-Number’
- e-Submission does not link to other modules in the LMS such as the
calendar. Could it please link to the LMS calendars so that a single view of all scheduled items can be gained. - There is additional work to recreate assignments for every instance of a
unit. Could something be done to make setting up assignments for each new teaching period simpler. -
General Requests
- #1920: Staff Portal Unit List: Could I please be able to order my list of units so that they are ‘digestable’/Could I please categorise units on my Personal tab so that I only see current teaching units by default.
- #1916: Remove the duplication of units in the TLCAdmin view for staff
- #1675: The submission list needs to be sorted (alphabetical or in order of submission).
- #1921: It would be useful for schools and students to have the unit information booklets refer to standard sources (preferably stable URLs) for generic information. This will reduce the number of updates needed for each unit information booklet and will direct students to the standard place to find this information.
- #2284: Course Classlist As a course coordinator I need a course student ‘classlist’ so that I have the contact details for all students in the course I coordinate.
- #1913: Special Extensions: Make eSubmission understand Special Extensions of Time (so student access is handled automatically)
- #1071: School Level Access to units: So that anyone that is a part of the school can view (not necessarily edit) any online (teaching unit) that that school owns
#1293: Coversheets for Coordinators: Add coversheets to the grades area so that co-ordinators can download marking coversheets and therefore print assignments themselves (instead of centrally)-
Improve Extension Management
- #966: Adding extension requests to eSubmission. This will help simplify management of assignments
- #1918: Extensions Page: Make sortable by name and due date.
- #1919: Extensions Page: Move the box for creating a new extension to the top of the page.
-
Integration with Callista (and other systems)
- Connect eSubmission to Callista so that I don’t have to manually transfer data. This would also help reduce transcription errors
- Connect Blackboard/Sakai to eSubmisison so that grades can be easily collated in the one spot (eSubmission?). This allows both myself and the students to have a single consistent source for assessment data.
- #1549/#1914: Add an overview page of all assignments in a unit. This will help prepare for Callista integration and help with both reviewing grades and final results collation
-
Staff access to student views
- #1917: Staff access to the student view in eSubmission
- #1310: Staff access to the student view in Sakai
-
#1296: Non-UNE users in eSubmission
- #1322: The Dual login that allows non-UNE students to login doesn’t appear in the DEV, UAT, PROD environments.
DEV environment settings have been added to Tomcat. Found that it didn’t include Blackboard and Sakai settings so may need to request another change. #1933: To allow non-UNE students (and groups not created as offerings) access to eSubmission we need groups to be a part of assignment setup.#1936/#2069: If a user is in a group, the “download coversheet” option does not work. Coversheets need to work with groups/all students who need to submit via eSubmission will need to be able to download coversheets. Coversheets will also need to be produced for centrally printed assignments submitted by nonUNE Students.#2428: all students who need to submit via eSubmission will need to be able to download coversheets. Coversheets will also need to be produced for centrally printed assignments submitted by nonUNE Students.
- #1322: The Dual login that allows non-UNE students to login doesn’t appear in the DEV, UAT, PROD environments.
-
Other Technical Changes
- #1926:Change offering search to ’starts with’ functionality: So that for example, a search for PREX901 will also display the reults for PREX901-6 and PREX901-12
- #972: [Org Manager] Fix several bugs left with the Org Manager so that nodes can’t be orphaned and the system refreshes properly in IE
- #1054: Need to refactor parts of tlc.core into une.core so that a ‘global’ core library can start being built.
#1081: Addresses that include some characters are not printing correctly on the address labels used for the return of assignments to students. Here are two examples. You will notice the incorrect strings are " and '. These often also obliterate the address on the label next to it.- In the assignment management page, the list of accepted file extensions does not allow for commas to delimit the list items, only spaces.
