Somehow I don’t think anywhere I have ever lived will ever be hailed as the world’s cultural capital! ;) Nice to hear of such a flowering after the long winter.

  2. Klaus Rohde Says:

Three operas of international standing (plus one or two minor ones), 150 or so theatres, The Berlin Philharmonic and some other high class orchestras, The Museum Insel with its fantastic galleries (The Pergamon Altar, huge pieces from Assyria and Babylon, classical and modern art), and - last not least - excellent and affordable restaurants. A very active literature and art “scene”. And all surrounded by a very appealing landscape: lakes, forests.
