Hello and Welcome to Sport and Recreation NSW.

Filed under: Uncategorized @ 2:50 pm

Sport and recreation are holding a holiday staff training weekend and in doing so will  give you the basis for employment in all Sport and Recreation Centres across NSW, i.e. Lake Keepit, Berry, Borambola, Broken Bay, Milson Island, Myuna Bay, Sydney Academy, Point Wolstoncroft, Lake Burrendong, Jindabyne and Lake Ainsworth. Coming to the weekend you will learn all about and participate in camp activities and learn all there is to know about becoming an Assistant Group leader, Group Leader, Liaison Officer and a Program Officer (Outdoor Educator), (More information about the roles can be found at http://www.dsr.nsw.gov.au/aboutus/employ_cas.asp).

In being a casual employee and working as a holiday staff member you will be carrying out work that is intermittent based on when camps are planned, including possible school holidays, weekends and some public holidays, also working on a short term basis at a Centre with flexible workload depending on program bookings.

It is another means of employment that not many people are aware of, and will provide you with more employment opportunities later on.

There are few session run throughout the year to gain training about this type of work and places in these sessions are few. It is great fun and you will meet amazing people and gain a lot of experience that is transposable with any form of employment.  Hope to see you there!
