Monthly Salary: 12,300-20,400 AED/month (approx. $3300 – $5450 AUD) tax-free

Housing: Private family accommodations provided; furnished, or with furniture allowance 
Flight: Return airfare provided for candidate, spouse, and up to 3 dependants 
Vacation: Summer break; national holidays

The Deputy Associate will assist a Federal Magistrate in the Sydney Registry of the Court (general federal law) with legal research in areas within the Court’s jurisdiction and assist the Associate in the day-to-day management of Chambers.

Please Note: There are several positions being advertised, both ongoing and non-ongoing. The non-ongoing positions are for a period of up to 12 months, with the possibility of extensions for a total period of up to 3 years.
The order of merit created for this position may be used to fill non-ongoing opportunities as they arise over the next 12 months.

Role Overview: The position is an Analyst role, within the Finance, Settlements and Corporate Group.   The successful applicant will work in a small team to deliver a strong financial management framework for the agency.  The Group is responsible for meeting the AOFM’s statutory and management reporting requirements, for meeting financial obligations to counterparties transacting with the AOFM and meeting AOFM’s taxation obligations.

Qualifications: Degree qualification in accounting, or degree qualification with a major in accounting, from a recognised tertiary institution.  The successful applicant would be expected to undertake further professional qualification (e.g. CPA or ICAA).

Experience:  Experience in developing and applying spreadsheets is essential and a working knowledge of Visual Basic for Excel would be an advantage.  Work experience in a finance function is not essential but would be advantageous.
This position is based in Canberra (more information about our location is on our web site).  We will pay relocation costs for successful candidates.
