How can I develop these skills?
There are all sorts of things you can do to develop employability skills while you are studying at UNE.
- Your academic studies will develop many of these skills - subject knowledge, communication, research, analysis, problem solving, project management, technical skills, planning skills, teamwork - the list goes on.
- Take advantage of work placement opportunities while you study, through the WorkReady Program
- Get credit towards your degree with a professional work placement by enrolling in WORK300
- Check out the opportunities for internships
- Participate in student society and college activities, travel, play sport
- Part-time, vacation and volunteer work all add to your skills
The crucial point here is that all these activities take time. You can’t develop a Skills Data Base the night before.
