In accordance with the scheduled maintenance window procedure the next maintenance event will occur on Saturday, 20 September 2008.

ITD will be performing upgrades on key infrastructure leading to a full systems shutdown of all central University systems and services. This will occur between 06:00am and 11:00am. As a result of this ALL internet and network based university services will be unavailable during this period.

This event is one of a regular schedule of maintenance windows during which essential upgrades and maintenance improvements will be applied to University systems.

The schedule includes a major full day outage every quarter and a shorter outage every month. These are scheduled to take place on the third Saturday every month and quarterly in (Jan, Apr, Jul & Oct). Times may be varied to cater for important events such as residential schools and notices regarding the schedule of maintenance windows will be posted on the ITD Services Announcements web page before each scheduled window.

Please check the ITD service announcements web page regularly for information relating to ITD services and events.

To reiterate, for this scheduled maintenance window ALL web based and network services, including access to external web sites, will be unavailable.

Time – 6:00am to 11:00am

This workshop will include: where to look for work, putting together a professional resume and job applications including addressing selection criteria

Career Development staff will be available for private consultations with off-campus students on the following dates for a Careers Drop In Centre during Residential Schools in the Learning Commons - ground floor of Dixson library

1-3pm Wednesday 17th September

4-5.30pm Tuesday 16th & 23rd September

4-5.30pm Thursday 25th September

During the residential schools Frances Munro (Access Centres co-ordinator) and myself (Programs officer for off campus students) will conduct lunchtime walking tours of the main campus.

These will commence at 12 noon from the Learning Commons (ground floor of the Library) and go for about 20 minutes. No need to book but we’ll be aiming to kick off on time. See you there….

A one hour workshop on academic writing will be held during the upcoming residential school period

Procrastination Busters lunchtime workshops will be held in the Learning Commons in the Dixson library (Rm PBLI)

There’s no need to book for this on - just turn up!!

We realise that during residential schools you have limited free time so if you would like to make a time for a face to face consultation with a counsellor at Student Assist, it helps to make an appointment before you come to Armidale. During the intensive schools period, extra counselling appointments will be made available at 4pm and 5pm on Tuesday 16th Sept, Thursday 18th Sept, Tuesday 23rd Sept and Thursday 25th Sept, in addition to the usual appointments available between 9am and 3pm. This Service is free and confidential.
