Educational Development Social Media Initiative

The Educational Development team is trialing the use of social media in Myee Gregory’s seminar tomorrow for MM200 students. Lou has forwarded information about the seminar previously to bepp_all, but I have included it again below for your information.

We have organized for live streaming of this event on the web at:

http://www.ustream.tv/channel/live-lecture1 as well as on the GSB Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/#!/GSBUNE?sk=app_196506863720166.

Participants will be able to watch the seminar, and contribute to the session via the chat section linked to these pages (Facebook users will need to ‘like’ the GSB Facebook page first).

This is the site we will continue to use to live stream lectures/ seminars, so feel free to ‘Join the crowd’ for future notifications.

We have also created a ‘hash-tag’ for Twitter which will capture all posts made via Twitter which cite the tag #MM200. Participants in the audience will be able to view the stream of posts on Twitter via a projector set up in the theatre.

Interested Twitter subscribers are welcome to contribute to the stream, either from within the audience or off site (please remember to put #MM200 in your tweet) OR you can view the contributions on the stream by searching for #MM200 in Twitter.

Those following @GSBUNE or @EDDEVBEPP on Twitter will also see a limited selection of tweets as we post them during the seminar.

Please feel free to participate.

Information about the seminar posted to bepp_staff-bounces@une.edu.au; on behalf of; Mary-Louise Conway [mconway@une.edu.au]
