The Educational Development team has created a plan of action for the development and design of units in Moodle and the corresponding training and support this will entail. This process is entwined with current curriculum mapping exercises and the overarching UNE Flexible and Online project. The survey (see below) will assist in this exercise and we will, in the near future, be presenting a showcase of tools and resources for you to get some ideas about what may be incorporated into your units to enhance the engagement of students.
A short (online) survey will be circulated early next week to help us gain an overall perspective of the online environment in teaching across the school. We hope that you are able to take a few minutes to complete the survey.
The Educational Development team has developed a Mahara demonstration portfolio which brings together a range of communication channels including the blog and links to resources gathered by the team. The portfolio can be accessed here.
Mahara is the open source e-portfolio program that the University has chosen to use as a plug-in to Moodle. All staff will have access to a profile in Mahara. It is an effective tool for collating resources and quickly checking a variety of tools for updates, through the use of RSS feeds.
