Tuesday, July 17th, 2007
Acting University Librarian, Jack Bedson, has welcomed completion of work on the Library’s new-look eSKILLS Plus. eSKILLS Plus provides UNE students with online tuition in advanced study and work-related skills.“The Library takes pride in the new eSKILLS Plus, which goes beyond traditional library instruction,” said Mr Bedson. “It includes advice on subjects like online research, searching for careers information, writing for publication and academic networking.”“eSKILLS Plus incorporates a broad array of resources: full-text e-books, online journal articles, interactive tutorials and self-assessment exercises.”“The project is great news for external students, who can be disadvantaged by distance.”
The redevelopment of eSKILLS Plus was funded by a grant of $19,255 under the UNE Teaching Development Grants scheme.
“We look forward to input from the rest of the UNE community, so that we can continue to improve this essential resource,” said Mr Bedson.
