Victorian bushfires

The tragedy of the Victorian bushfires has thrown up many legal issues. These are discussed in the programme ‘The Law Report’ originally broadcast on ABC Radio National on Tuesday 17 February, which included commentary from me on the litigation following the 2003 Canberra fires.     The case you referenced about the fire brigade using the dam owners water, who was then unable to defend his property will be an interesting one….

    Yes, indeed it will and if those facts are established, it may well make that case different to the others. We will have to wait and see.
