In 2007 the UNE Chemistry lecturing team won a major national award, a Carrick Citation, for their high quality teaching. The Citation was for:
“Outstanding contributions to student learning” and “for overcoming the tyranny of distance in tertiary chemical education”.
Along with this, Chemistry at UNE rates highly for on-campus teaching at all levels, from undergraduate through to Ph.D.
We aim to make chemistry accessible to all and to instil a passion for life-long learning. The highly qualified team are friendly, approachable and flexible, while facilitating the learning of the high-level skills. Our teaching and research facilities are world class, as are the team’s research activities and many discoveries. It is possible to study chemistry at UNE as an external student, allowing students to remain in employment while gaining a full qualification in chemistry.
